Sugar Land is city with sweetest name in the USA. The suburb got its name from the product it produced for nearly two centuries.
Since its inception, Imperial Sugar has been headquartered in Sugar Land; the company's crown logo is featured in the city's seal. The company was founded in 1843. Just ten years before completion of first segment of the oldest railroad in Texas.
