This is the heart of Belgrade. The building of the National Theater was built in 1869 on the initiative of Prince Mihailo Obrenović. A monument in front of the theater shows Prince Mihailo on horseback. This beautiful building was designed by Aleksandar Bugarin, with all the characteristics of the theater architecture of its time. The building was destroyed during the bombing of Belgrade in 1941 and during the Second World War. The renovation of the facade of the theater took a long time. As a child, I remember seeing bullet holes in the facade of the building.

The theater is surrounded by cafes and restaurants. The picture shows the chairs of the cafe where I spent many hours as a high school student.

The painting comes in a limited series of only 50 prints.  Each print is hand-signed numbered and it includes a certificate of authenticity.

The artwork is using a 1.5" deep gallery wrap and it is not framed.
